" Fashion is to stand out not to fit in "
I have always believed that less is more. Especially going to a party wether it is a lot of glitter or glossy sequins, at the end of the day you still want to stay comfortable in your outfit. Today I will be showing you 3 ways to spice up your outfits without looking OTT. These outfits can easily be worn to school as well as to work.
When it comes to party outfits the first thing that pops up in my head is the LBD. It is just unmissable. If you are having a hard time finding the perfect dress then the little black dress is your answer. It comes in so many different shapes and sizes that you can experiment with. This could include suede which is ‘the trend’ for this season or even lace for a feminine twist. Below I have listed three of the LBD which are on my wish list.
How to style: Since the little black dress will be the key element of your outfit, I wouldn’t add to much jewellery to it. Other than some killer black heels. However I cannot miss some midi rings which just add that little detail and will complete your outfit. This would definitely give the vibe of less is more.
Glitter, Sparkle and more Glitter
No Christmas outfit is complete without it having any glitter or sparkle. It is that time of the year again when you can go ca-racy with glitter and it would still look okay. With this I don’t mean be dressed from head till toe in all complete glitter. We still have to remember less is more. Tomorrow my Birthday meal outfit will be online in which you can clearly see the element of less is more but here is a sneak peak.
How to style: I went for this glitter top from UO which is just the perfect top as it is basically like you are wearing a t-shirt but you still look suitable for a party. It has that Christmas warm colour of burgundy in it which doesn’t make your outfit completely colourless. With a pair of black jeans and some brogues (if you want to make your outfit reall comfortable otherwise pair it with some Chelsea boots) the outfit looks complete. You could wear some black lace socks to compliment your shoes and add that extra touch to it.
Walk it like you own it
Ever heard of the saying if you give a girl the right pair of shoes she can conquer the world. Wether you believe it or not, shoes do make a big difference in outfits. You wouldn’t just go in converse. However if you are not really a heels person then don’t worry I am not very keen on them either. Remember it is all about comfort and the way you like it as you can even buy converse glitter shoes which gives you comfort and glitter what more can you ask?
How to style: Shoes can be styled with just about any outfit if they are black, which is always the easy option. However if you are feeling a bit more comfortable around black and want to take the next step then burgundy is not a bad option either. After all it is this season’s ‘it’ colour. It has the christmas touch to it so why not? Party shoes can differ from open and closed ones or even in terms of texture. You can buy them in suede which I love! But also peep toe shoes or closed chelsea boots. The suede sandals are definitely on my wish list for this year.
Even though I will not be here this year for Christmas I still wanted to share some inspiration with you guys. My blog is a place where I can bombard it with inspiration wether someone likes it or not haha. Another reason for posting it was because this article was in our school newspaper! So of course I had to share it on my blog as well.
